Volunteers

For the first time the sun actually shone on the Sayers Croft Family Conservation Volunteers, and did we deserve it after the last two events left us swimming in our clothes. We’ve managed to clear the immediate view from the top of Pitch Hill, and with a little more work we should have it all cleared. But at least for now when sitting on the bench behind the Toposcope, you can see into the distance again!pitch-volunteers-sm

A first

Well, it’s the first time in my memory that someone has actually dumped something of any use. Obviously dumped by even more stupid than usual fly tipppers. As well as the stone that I’m told is relatively valuable they dumped two gas bottles that also must have been valuable as they were taken before I got there! A quick call to a local company got the stone and other rubbish that was with it cleared up for free!dumped-stone1Note the very clean pick-up, that’s a sight you won’t often see.
